Why a Mercy Ministry focused Discipleship Training School?
The Mercy Ministry focused DTS takes place in Wiler in the Autumn of 2012. The focus of this DTS is to extend God’s mercy to those who are in need and have no voice and no rights.
In addition to the regular DTS topics (see DTS curriculum at www.ywamdtscentre.com), this course will have teaching intended to help us have a better understanding of what is going on in the world and how we can get involved in very simple, practical ways – and be obedient to God’s commands to care for justice, to give a voice to those too weak to speak for themselves (whether they are single women in a society in which they are unprotected, or children, or refugees, …).

When?
The DTS will run from Sunday, September 23rd, 2012 until Saturday April 6th, 2013, including the intercultural outreach from January 13th on.
- International arrival date: September 22nd
- Departure Date April 6th, 2013
The outreach locations will be clear before the DTS starts. An important criterion will be an established Mercy Ministry Team on-site. Outreach will be 12 weeks including one week of debriefing back in Wiler.
Where?
Wiler is located almost exactly in the middle between Bern and Biel/Bienne in Switzerland. To both cities there is a driving distance of about 18 km. Wiler is a rather “scattered” village, and consists of several parts. It is a village where “everybody knows everybody” and where you always find opportunities for a litte conversation or for giving someone a helping hand.
The main impression of Wiler is that of a farming village, but in the meantime the majority of people living here are not involved in farming anymore.

How much?
The cost for the 16 weeks of lecture phase is CHF 3’900. The cost for outreach depends on the outreach location.

University of the Nations
This DTS is a University of the Nations registered course. The UofN is part of Youth with a Mission. A successful completed DTS is a prerequisite to all other UofN training schools, degree programs and to work long term with YWAM as well.
